What a day that was! Saturday August 18th was a celebration of the fiftieth year of the Association. It was also a celebration of the lake, near the lake, and on the lake. A party of joy, boating, and ... St. Donat! The “Trees for the Future” were distributed to children, and the “Club de la Relève” was created. “We have to do this again!” was a thought frequently expressed by the participants. The dragon boat races were so popular that a repeat is already planned for next year. Your enthusiastic participation demonstrates the great vitality of our Association.
APELA is also your eyes, ears, and voice at the forestry discussion table, and with municipal and governmental authorities. Not only to defend the water quality of the lake, but the beauty of the countryside, which in turn defends the value of your properties. What would your investment be worth if the lake was covered in blue-green algae ? Our lake lies within the jewel box of the mountains. They must remain that way, and everything built upon them must respect the lake that they protect.
We protect your interests with all concerned, and our volunteers spend a lot of time and energy working for you.
Winston Churchill once said “Give us the means, and we will do the work!”. Your membership fee is an excellent investment that returns full value.

This ensures that we can process your membership, and renew your subscription to Journal Altitude in time for the January 2013 edition.
